Hello all,

I am a web developer ( 3 years Bachelors of CS degree from Pakistan). Currently I am a
webdeveloper in US, also have programming experience. have around 5 years of work
expereince.I am interested in applying for Canadian Immig. I have the following 2
questions.

1. Do I fall under the category of Software Engineer or Computer Programmer in the General
Occupations List (GOL)
2. Do I have to certify my Bachelors degree from a professional body in Canada. I know
that Electrical and CIvil engineers get their degrees evaluated from CCPE (in canada).
If yes, which organization?

I shall be gratefull for your input.

Thanks.

Best Regards

Zee

A thorough review of the duties of your occupation would be required to accurately
assess the proper NOC designation. Based on the information provided, however, your
occupation appears more consistent with that of a Computer Programmer than with that of
a Software Engineer.

In most cases, computer professionals are not required to obtain any such assessment. A
computer science degree would not be eligible for approval by the CCPE.
