A Very Specific Express Entry Query (Engineering)
Hi all,
I'm starting to put together my Express Entry application. I've managed to gleam as much information from here and the recruitment experts at my work as I can, but I was wondering if anyone can help me.
I'm going through the Canadian Experience Class section, as of January 2016 I'll have 1 year full-time professional experience in Canada in addition to 5 years back in Scotland and will be ready to apply.
My question is that I am a Civil Engineer by degree and do Civil Engineering work, but I'm not yet a PEng (application in process) so I technically can't call myself and Engineer. I am an Engineer-In-Training registered with the Ontario Professional Engineering Body and my job title is "Rail and Transit Specialist". Being an EIT, does my work experience qualify as "Civil Engineer" - being an NOC code A Professional vocation? Also, as I'm here on a 1-year IEC (have a 2-year IEC to activate in January 2016 to give 3 years total), does that affect anything?
I appreciate that it's likely only other engineers going through express entry will know the answer to this... Hoping someone can help!

Re: A Very Specific Express Entry Query (Engineering)
I don't believe it is an issue, because NOC 2131 describes the Qualification, Duties and alternative job titles, not the Professional Designation.
Quick Search - Results
The only 'is required' item is under 'Employment Requirements' and is a Batchelor's Degree.
It's not like the UK where you have to be Chartered to officially call yourself a Civil Engineer.
