Default TWP limit.

Hi, is there still a limit of time that you can be employed on a TWP ?
Before IIRC, you could work for 4 yrs then had to go back for 4yrs before applying again.
This is for a TWP for Truck driving and is it different rules in different Provinces ?
Thanks.

I know several people who’ve lived for a long time on TWP’s in Alberta. A good friend of ours has recently got their PR after being on TWP’s for 14 years. None of them have had to leave.
We were told by immigration when we arrived for a TWP that we could just extend it each time if contracts get extended- they just advised we do it sooner rather than later so we don’t have to stop working. They gave us a buffer on our permits too- an extra 2 months on when my husband’s job contract actually ends just in case we needed it or to “just travel around” as he put it. We’re about to extend our current one as we were initially here on a 2 year TWP but husband has recently been told his job is extending for at least 3 more years.
I don’t know if it’s different in other provinces. But I haven’t heard that they’re time sensitive.
Good luck!

That was scrapped in 2016 - https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration...liminated.html

There's no limit now.

HTH.
