Default Travel to canada without PR card

My friend just obtained canadian PR status but has not received the card yet. She still has a canadian student visa that is valid. Can she travel to Europe, then return to Canada? I am thinking the student visa is enough to get on the plane, and then she can argue she is a PR at the border. will that work?

Once you become a PR then any work permit, study permit, visitor record or other status becomes void. Any potential problems are with the airline. Which country is he a citizen of?

Hey, on a related topic, I activated my PR visa a month or so ago on a holiday that I took over in Canada.

I don't have a Canadian address at the moment but I was wondering if it would be possible to ask for my PR card to be sent to my UK address?

Best to start your own thread instead of hijacking someone else's, avoids trying to follow two conversations inside of one thread.

No. PR cards are only sent to addresses in Canada. If you haven't supplied CIC an address within 180 days of landing you will need to apply for a travel document before returning to Canada.

Will also need an actual visa counterfoil in the passport. Probably already has one which would be a student visa and not to be confused with a study permit. Normally the visas are multiple entry and there should be an expiry date in the top right hand corner valid from and valid to.
