Hi everyone.
We sent off our paperwork yesterday - couldn't have done it without reading through the forums for help!
I guess the waiting starts now

Thanks - just the answer/support/advice I was looking for!
I was worried about not getting the tracking number, but it seems it's a general thing they do.
I will email them this afternoon with my concerns; asking for the tracking number.
I believe it's guaranteed next day delivery before noon.
Thanks Caleo.

RPRF Payment Requested
Hi Everyone,
I received an email today from London asking me for the RPRF Payment. I've paid and sent the receipt to Missisauga. The next step will be the PPR and I still can't decide whether I should include a Prepaid Addressed Envelope (which will cost me about $50) or just an Addressed Envelope with my Passport. I'm in Toronto so they'll have to send it to me here. Any advice as to the best option? Thanks in advance.

Sponsorship decision made, and it's an approval!
We have taken so much good advice from these forums, and we really wouldn't have been able to make the application without the guidance here, so I thought I would let you know about our success so far.
Check out my timeline - not too shabby! We have been married for 6 years though, so we are hoping things will go quickly. Good luck to everyone!
Application Received by CPC-M April 10th, 2011.
Sponsorship Approved May 6th, 2011.
Current Statusocuments and Medical Received by LONDON May 12th, 2011

Hi all
I've too just received an email today to confirm I have got through the final step and they just want my passport now, so they will issue my PR papers within 2 weeks. I have to do it with 48 days. I have a trip to US coming up, so am going to do it when we get back. I can't believe it's happened so quickly and all so smoothly. We just sold the house this week too, so that's it now, on with booking White & Company and we are well and truly off in august. Thanks so much to everyone for getting me through. I'll be sure to need more help when I get there. all good fun!!!!! X

Hi All,
Our application has currently been in process for a month, I know it's too early for me to be getting antsy, but I wish it was done already!
I have questions about what happens once you get approved and get the passport request. You send it off, wait 5 weeks to get it back, then you're free to land in Canada I assume (I'm already in Canada so I'd be flagpoling).
Then I assume you have to apply for your SIN card before you can start working? Is that a quick process? Anyone been through that process and have a rough idea of the time it takes?
Thanks!

Edit again: AFAIK you don't have to 'go round the flagpole' you can just to your nearest immigration office. There should be one near you. I know mine is within walking distance.

I was checking this out recently. Apparently you just take your pr card down to your nearest service Canada office and you get a number pretty much straight away. It can take a couple of weeks to get the actual SIN card through though.

Hi
1. To "land" inland, your status has to be valid and you have to phone the call centre 1-888-242-2100 and they will make the appt. at the local CIC.
Wow, thanks Richard, thats two very useful pieces of information! I always assumed flagpoling was the only way, given how much it was discussed on the forums here. I live in Vancouver so it's not a huge hassle to skip down to the USA and back, but I'll look into finding an immigration office. Cheers!

Hi Everyone,
Longtime lurker, first time poster. Some great info on here that's helped me out loads.
I've got a quick query that hopefully someone can help me out with. I've applied via the spousal route and received my passport request email today (woo hoo!) but the email contained this line which concerns me -
Unless your passport or the passport of one of your accompanying family members (if any) expires on an earlier date, your permanent resident visa(s) will all expire on 2012/02/08.
Does this mean I've got until 8th February 2012 to enter Canada or that have only given me a visa for 9 months??
thanks
