Telephone Landings
Hi
IRCC has started a new "pilot project" where persons in Canada are issued a COPR and live a distance from either an IRCC office or a land Port of Entry are being "landed" over the telephone. (I know it sounds weird) You will receive a phone call and a date and time will be set for the "landing"
Procedure
a. The first part of landing where they double check with you that all info on COPR is correct, if not you correct it with black pen and put your initials.
b. You are asked usual YES/NO questions about charges/convictions , refusals of entry to Canada etc.then sign No and initials under same question in COPR.
c. They double check if there are other children born outside of Canada other then those in application and are there any other dependents other then those listed in application.
d. You then sign the COPR without dating it.
e. Once the call is complete you will receive an email from the case worker (within 48hours)) with details of where to send the CoPR document. Once they receive the document, they will review it and counter-sign it, at this point (all being well) they will issue the PR cards.
This should prove very interesting.

Re: Telephone Landings
Yes it will. Love to see the 1st case where the Immigrant has changed phone numbers since the appointment was made and IRCC cant get hold of them and their COPR has now expired
I certainly can understand their thinking if the person was in Thompson Manitoba or Grand Prairie Alberta etc. Im hoping the call will be recorded so can be used in a Misrepresentation case where they lied over the phone as we know nobody lies to IRCC or CBSA.
