Hi all,

My wife is going to have to take the TEF test as part of our application for Canadian Immigration. I've spent some time looking at our options for centres that offer the test, and so far the only three I can find are Alliance Francaise London, Manchester and Glasgow. Are these really the only three centres that offer the test in the UK, or am I missing something obvious?

Also, my wife's French is a little rusty, and we're possibly looking for courses in London that would be at an appropriate level for her to get back up to speed. She achieved an 'A' grade at A-Level, but hasn't practiced all that much since then. Does anyone have any recommendations for places we can look at?

Lastly, what about courses/tuition that specifically prepares you for the TEF test? I've found the Objectif Reussite book and accompanying audio files, which is a start, but I know my wife would prefer dealing with someone face to face.

Does your wife definitely need the TEF for points? Just that it's an awful lot of hassle if she doesn't!

Thanks for the link. Am I correct in assuming its specifically the TEF Canada exam I'm looking for? If that's the case there are 4 centres I can see - Glasgow, Edinburgh, Colchester and London.

Where does the TEFAQ exam sit? Is it equivalent/an alternative that she could take?
The reason I ask, and am now really confused, is that Manchester is only showing the TEFAQ exam. I actually spoke to them this morning on the phone, and they confirmed that they ran the TEF Canada course.......I'm really confused.
