Default Spousal sponsorship paperwork organisation

There have been a few new threads on this recently.

There is of course a valuable link in the spousal sponsorship wiki that refers to an old thread here which is now closed.

I thought it might be helpful to post a photo of how I organised mine.

I am not for one second saying that the way I did it was great, nor do I have any 'inside knowledge', it is just that it seems to be working.

First off, follow any instructions on the CIC website. No staples, paperclips, pins or anything. I took the liberty of creating and including two index sheets, one for Sponsor, the other for Applicant. Yes, I did use divider tabs which I am sure they would easily removed. The red sticky tabs at the top were purely for my reference and I removed these prior to submission.

The order of the papers was the checklist followed by separate sections for each item on the checklist in the same order as they appeared on the checklist .

I also of course put the barcode pages for both sponsor and applicant at the front of each index sheet as per CIC instructions. I then put the two sections into two separate slip in plastic sleeves and put the whole lot into a single padded jiffy bag type envelope and mailed to CIC (I wish I had used a specialist courier like DHL, FEDEX etc.).

As I say, I am not holding this up as good, this is just what I did. I hope this helps others yet to trod this path. It is all quite stressful I know!

Default Re: Spousal sponsorship paperwork organisation

I've updated the wiki to include a link to this post as well, so they're both there now.

FWIW, we also used binder dividers using the same logic - they can be easily discarded.
