Sponsor Application - financial dependant back in UK
Hi there,
I'm in the middle of filling out all the paperwork and are a bit worried in regards to my partners sponsor application. It asks if there are any dependants back in the UK who would be financially supported by him - his youngest son is 15 and technically he would need to pay maintenance. My partner hasn't got a job offer yet (canadian citizen living in the UK) so would the application be rejected in regards to no means to support me then?

Hi, welcome to BE.
He doesn't need to be earning anything at all to sponsor you, so it's not relevant.
HTH.

[QUOTE]Is there any minimum income requirement to sponsor?
Generally no, with one exception.
As per the guide, the only people who must meet a minimum income are those who have dependent children who have dependent children of their own./QUOTE]
Or am I reading it wrong?

Yep, only a financial requirement if the sponsor is supporting a child AND a grandchild.
If they are only supporting a child (or children), then there's no financial requirement.
I'm assuming (hoping!) the 15 year old doesn't have a kid, so you're good to go.
