Default Saskatchewan PR

I want to apply for SK PR I'm just unsure which route to take.I'm afraid I will bugger it up.
If I go to one of those service Canada offices do they help with the process?
I'm here on IEC visa, have about 8 months left,I have a trade from home but working in a different job here.

No, they don't help. Service Camada has nothing to do with visas, they deal with pensions, EI, etc.

For advice about a visa app you'd need to contact an immigration lawyer/consultant.

Or just ask on here.

HTH.

If you are going the consultant route, be prepared for hefty bills - and please make sure they are on the authorised representative lists http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/informa...verify-rep.asp

There's not many questions that haven't been asked on here, perhaps give us a try first?

Saskatchewan have reached the limit for 2015 for many of their skilled worker categories.

"...The SINP is still accepting applications to the International Skilled Worker Category – Employment Offer Sub-Category. However, the intake thresholds for International Skilled Worker – Occupations In-Demand Sub-Category and Saskatchewan Express Entry Sub-Category have been reached for 2015"

http://www.economy.gov.sk.ca/immigra...skilled-worker

If you have a trade, could you apply under express entry instead of PNP perhaps? http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigra.../apply-who.asp

Hi

Thanks for the info.

I'm not sure what route to go down,I do have a mechanics trade but I have not been working as a mechanic in Canada. The job I have now is unskilled.
I'm thinking the SNIP is the way I should go?

If you use the services of an authorised rep, there are extra requirements for authorised reps if your destination is Saskatchewan (i.e. if you apply through the SINP). They must be bonded as well as regulated (by ICCRC):

Licensed Recruiters and Immigration Consultants - Economy - Government of Saskatchewan

There's a link within the link above with the names of those who meet this authorisation.

Just make sure you do your research. I have personal experience of one of those on the list and feel I had a lucky escape. I also have heard really bad things and had to help someone else given very dubious advise by another one!

It's very expensive and you need to do most of the work yourself anyway! Unless you have very complicated issues like prior criminal convictions etc I would have a good read up on all the information on this site and have a go yourself.

Just my opinion

What is your actual job/NOC code? And how long have you been in your job?

SINP is accepting more applications for its occupations in demand category. NOC 7321 and 7322 are on the list.

My tob title would be tow truck operator or roadside assist technician.I have been in this job in sask for approx 15 months.Sometimes I do some roadside repairs like replacing a cars drive belt, alternator or battery, small stuff. So I do some skilled work or mechanical repairs but its prob not enough to say I'm a mechanical repairer or such.
Back home before I came here I was a self employed car mechanic for 5 years approx.
I wasn't sure if I applied for the skilled worker route as a mechanic do I have to work in that job here if I'm successful or have a job in that trade now?

From what I can figure,I should be applying to the international skilled workers, occupations in demand, there's a 1000 places left for 2015. Not sure if I'm right though!

You will need to match your profession against one of the NOC codes on the occupations in demand list. I saw NOC 7321 and 7322 and thought they might be possibilities, but no idea, of course exactly whether your skills/work experience match these. You will have to also read the criteria and requirements for application via this stream carefully.

Yes, that's my understanding too: that they have reopened with 1,000 places. The occupations in demand category doesn't necessarily need a job offer. If you open the application guide under forms in this link and go to Appendix A, it lists the occupations in demand:

http://www.economy.gov.sk.ca/immigra...ions-in-demand

I went and started the process through sinp online.Immediately it asked if I was a skilled worker wanting to live and work in sask or a foreign national living and working in sask,I chose foreign national but either applies to me :/

See what I mean, this stuff is never straight forward,I'm not sure if I picked the right one and it can't be changed lol what a headache.

I'm sure there'll be a way around creating another profile or similar if you think you've made a mistake.

I'm going to suggest you spend some time reading through the criteria and what you will need to do and provide during your application process. And I'm going to say this, even though others on here may disagree with me. If you are not clear and unsure that you can handle the application yourself, I suggest you seek at least an initial consultation from an authorised representative.
