I recently sent a registered mail to the embassy but wrote at the top left corner of the
envelope two reference numbers, mine and my wife's that was assigned to her mistakingly
instead of connecting her application to my file. I hope they will definitely check both
files? Or may be I should have sent it only with one reference number. Any body got an
idea what happens in such cases? Thanks.

With the exception of common-law or same sex spouses, a married couple should both have
the same file number. The visa office should delete the file number of the accompanying
dependent, and ensure that that applicant is assessed within the context of the principal
applicant's case.
