Default PR Approved YEE HA!!!!!!

Good Afternoon Folks,

May I firstly take this opportunity to wish you one and all a peaceful, happy and prosperous New Year.

The BE forum has been such an invaluable source of information when navigating the immigration pathway in Canada. Everyone here is so helpful and it proves that communication can do away with the need for expensive lawyers in the majority of cases.

Before we left Canada to go home for Christmas in N.Ireland I got the email asking me to send of my passport photocopies and photos to Ottawa for my P.R along with a self addressed envelope for return. Whilst at home I received an email to say that our P.R had been approved
We had a wee drink to celebrate. I was asked to log in to read messages but apart from the approval I see no further instructions.
What do I do now

Any suggestions as per usual are all welcome.

Kind Regards

Farmboy & Family

Congratulations.

We landed last September to validate the COPR. Still waiting for our PR card to arrive. Returning May 2018 after the house is sold. Will need a PRTD to return if the PR card has not arrived by then.

Top tip: if you click on the OP's username, you can see their past posts on the drop down menu, which will give you the info you need. They applied in early August it would appear, so quicker than the 6 month timescale quoted by CIC.

HTH.

Hi Ashley

Christmas is correct. We applied on the 6th of August and just got confirmation over the Christmas holidays.

Hey Christmasoompa how are you? Happy New Year!!
Have you any idea on the process or how long it takes CIC to send back our COPR documents?

Regards

Similar situation to Farmboy1892, recently received PR approval. Timeline for those interested is as follows -

ITA - November 1st
Application submitted - November 24th
AOR - November 25th
Request for IMM5562 (Supplementary Information) - November 27th
PPR - December 28th
COPR - January 9th

Landing back in Canada in a couple of weeks.

Good luck to all those still trying / waiting. This forum has been extremely valuable.

Exciting, I'm submitting today after getting everything together. Got the ITA back in October, but as using an Attorney they want everything at once before you submit and triple check everything, but today is that day!

Hoping for a quick turnaround, so we can land in June/July!

Congratulations Mark on getting your PR!

Was your AOR 25th November 2017, because that would mean PR in little over 6 weeks, if so was there a reason for it being so expedited?

Thank you!

It was 2017, yes. Very quick indeed. I'm not sure why it was so fast, no special reason as far as I'm aware. There were no unusual circumstances or anything like that so I have put it down to fortunate luck.

Good Evening Folks

I just received my S.A.E from Ottawa CIC today with my COPR documents enclosed.
Do I now need to go across my nearest U.S land border and return for them to be activated??

Regards

Hi Snowy,

Yes, my whole family and I need to land. We have been in Canada for a year already but live right beside a U.S land so this would be convenient.
Is it a long drawn out process??

Regards

Unless you were part of the telephone pilot, if you are already in Canada there are two ways to do it.

On the instructions you were given, it probably tells you can call the call centre and make an appointment at an inland office

or

you can go to a land border and do it that way by technically or actually leaving Canada and then returning. Be careful though: there are restrictions on when you can complete the process at some Ontario Port of Entries. I haven't got the list in front of me, and I'm not familiar with Ontario land borders, but if you say which border you would go to, someone will know.

The 2nd option is quicker than the first. I assume you all have current legal status (temporary).

Thanks Snowy,

i think I am ok here on this side. The Blue Water Bridge is our closest point and from my checking online it seems to be possible to carry out the process especially during the weekdays.

Thanks
