Re: PNP Timeline - please add your experiences
We originally applied under the Skilled Worker in Sep 2006 and then got invited to apply for AINP under the Strategic Recruitment Stream in October 2007.
1) Provincial office where applied: AB
2) Date when application was POSTED: 9 November 2007
3) Date when they received the application: can't remember
4) Any correspondence or calls received by your employer in between, if yes then the nature of the enquiry and after how many days/weeks did you get an enquiry from them? N/A
5) Date when decision made or received? PNP received September 2008
6) Employee is inside or outside Canada when the Application was submitted? N/A
7) If inside Canada, what currently doing? N/A
8) How long after initial application or PNP decision / when was PR granted? Picked up our PR on 22 January 2009
We were basically part of a trial to establish if the new Strategic Recruitment Stream was quicker than the Skilled Workers and although on paper it looks like it took a long time, it was actually fairly quick. We had a 4 months delay at the beginning of 2008 as my OH was in AB sitting some exams to qualify in his profession over there. But once we had our medicals on 3 December 2008 it was all very quick. We got an e-mail informing us of their positive decision straight after Christmas and handed in our passports in the New Year for the visa. Now landing in Calgary on Monday 16 Feb!!!

Re: PNP Timeline - please add your experiences
Hello,
I'm new here, my husband applied for BC PNP and filed forms last Jan 14. They have supposedly received our application Jan 15, per post canada registered mail tracking. We're just starting to worry because we haven't heard from them yet. Also, the cheque for the application fee was not yet cashed.
My husband is already in BC working as a software developer since October 2008.
Did anybody have the same experience? Is this the normal timeline or we should contact somebody by now?
Your response would be much appreciated.
TIA

1) Provincial office where applied: NS
2) Date when application was POSTED: January 2008 / March 2008*
3) Date when they received the application: March 2008 / May 2008*
4) Any correspondence or calls received by your employer in between, NO
5) Date when decision made or received? PNP June 2008
6) Employee is inside or outside Canada when the Application was submitted? In (TWP)
7) If inside Canada, what currently doing? N/A
7a - PNP-PR application sent to London September 2008
7b - Call for medicals December 17 2008
7c - Had medicals January 9-19 2009** (Xmas break delayed us a bit)
7d - Sent landing fees Feb 1 2009
7e - Call for passports March 18 2009
7f - ETA for passports and visas 60 days = May 18 2009
7g - planning on flagpoling in NB on a day out in May 2009
8) How long after initial application or PNP decision / when was PR granted? Shaping up to be about 14 months.***
*Needed to send additional info, hence I technically applid for PNP twice hence the two dates. Readers who fill in their forms properly may take the latter 2 dates.
**Needed a couple of retests, hence a shortish delay
***We could have shaved about 3 months off of this if we had got on top of all forms as soon as they arrived, got medicals sorted earlier etc. We were pretty relaxed about things like that I suppose because we were already here.

Hi webexpat:
"got medicals sorted earlier etc" .
I received NOMINATION under community identified (PNP) and submitted PR application to buffalo on feb 5, '09. Haven't heard anything back from Buffalo. One Q; can I start doing medicals even prior getting such request from the visa post?

We were doing fantastically well until bad news at meds.
Applied for pnp/NS October 7th PNP approved Dec 3rd Application to london Dec 17th Med requests letter dated Jan 29th Meds Feb 20th disaster struck March 2nd
We now have to wait for follow up x ray which cant be done until 3 months after meds ie May 20th so I am about to detonate as you can imgaine
so near yet so far we were within a whisker of the immigration nightmare being over
most importantly there is nothing wrong with husband just some tiny scaring which is insignificant but that fact is lost on Immigration
oh well thats my winge for the day
huge luck all
