Hi All

I have just received a nomination from BC province, I have noticed it's the paper based nomination.
Can anyone tell me, did I select this or do the province choose for you? I have also looked into the processing times and the paper based could be up to 18 months where express entry is 6 months. Are you able to change the nomination?

Any help would be extremely appreciated.

No, you can't change it now. You would have had to apply under EE if you wanted to use that route, unfortunately you chose the slower route but the only option for EE now would be to reapply completely.

Paper based is pants!

Can't think of any good reason it takes CIC THREE TIMES AS LONG to process a paper based application as I would assume they do just the same checks either way.

My guess? Simply because those that apply under paper based system aren't a priority i.e. they're usually semi or low skilled workers. Anybody else is eligible to apply under the EE system, and Canada always tends to prioritise highly skilled/educated people, even when it comes to processing times! Daft system sometimes but hey.
