Default Medical, Police checks and processing times

Hello

I was just reading some posts and it's got me a bit worried as I feel I may have overlooked a couple of things.

Is a Medical Report always needed for the CEC track? When I applied in August 2014 I didn't see any mention of this in the checklist and my lawyer didn't mention it either. It's been over 14 months and I haven't heard anything from CIC. I have a BOWP which expires in February and I can't find any info on how/when to apply for an extension and I also read that they are approved on a case-by-case basis. Anybody know what the decision is based on?

Also, I have my police-check certificate ready to send from March, just waiting for them to request it. Any advise on when they are usually requested and how long it takes for a decision once they have it?

Thanks in advance
Amy

Did you not submit a police check with the application?

As for the medical, for this class/paper based application, you wait for CIC to request you complete one. However, you could complete an upfront medical now, bearing in mind they are valid for a year.

There are many 2014 CEC applicants in the same boat as you (i.e. waiting).

You mention your lawyer. Are they not advising you on these things, including applying to extend your WP?

It also says (on the processing times page here: Processing times: Permanent Residence — Economic classes )
If it has been longer than the time shown above since you applied and your visa office has not contacted you, you may wish to contact the visa office that is processing your application.
I would suggest getting in touch!

Have you received an Acknowledgement of Receipt?

I am also very surprised that your Immigration Consultant/Lawyer hasn't advised you - I presume they are authorised? http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/informa...verify-rep.asp
