Default "Landing" with PR

Hi all,
I am booking my flights but have a question. I am travelling with my 3 young children (husband to follow - (should I add him to goods to follow list ))

I intend landing in Vancouver and then getting a connecting flight to Kamloops. I am happy to leave 3 hours to "land"(is this long enough?) but do I need to exit and then check in with all my bags at Vancouver departures to be able to fly onto Kamloops? or is their an internal ie without exiting the security area.

I will have a pushchair, and 6yo and 8yo plus bags on a trolley -

Just trying to work out if I am making it more difficult?

Thanks for any advice?

3 hours might be OK or it might not. Personally I would allow longer.

agree i would allow longer..generally allow 3 hrs for any connecting flights to allow for delays etc..then another 2 hrs to activate PR..just in case

Thank you guys I appreciate the info. I am trying to coordinate flights into YVR and out again without having to exit the airport. Fingers crossed as flights wit AirTransat seem to stop in Nov:-(

I don't think we have ever come across a truly 'happier' crew than that of the WestJet flight - I want some of what they drink! I only wish WestJet flew direct to Ottawa!

So far from the BA 'service with a snarl' or Air Canada 'God help you if anything goes wrong'!

Hurlabrick - I'd never hear of them. OMG westjet online I can fly with them .....
Just have to go via Calgary

AC £1600 ish per person LHR to YVR
ATransat £299 ish per person

West Jet YVR to Kamloops £86 via Calgary
AC £76 direct

Sam1970 sound like we'll be flying in same sort of time :-) Congratulations too.
Exciting times

Last time I checked YVR only has 1 Terminal though its a big one so you wouldn't actually be leaving the airport for a connecting flight just a long walk.

I landed in YVR earlier this year, with a connecting flight to Kelowna - left four hours between them which was enough to land, get a bite to eat, and meet the connection without much stress (but I only had to queue at immigration - repeated my normal 'walk down stairs straight to booth' at YVR, while other people have experienced long waits just to get to passport control).

Connections depend on your airline etc - we flew WestJet through ticketed, so we never saw our bags (three each checked) between handing them over at Gatwick & arriving at Kelowna.
