It's all reciprocal. Will the UK/Canadian government agree to any changes, who knows, but a quick google search suggests no recent papers have been published in the UK for changes the UK side. Looking at the stats (from how I'm interpreting them) Canadians don't fully utilise the UK scheme 2009-2012 it's remained flat at 4,300 Tier 5 visas issued each year, 1,000 below the yearly cap. So I'd hedge a bet it'll remain status quo for UK.

Interestingly I did read some comments recently from Boris Johnson and a publication about Commonwealth mobility... what impact if any this has will be interesting to see over the coming years http://www.cityam.com/1415008768/bor...th-immigration

Personally I'd like unlimited permits between 18-30 similar deal to what Australians gets

It's not completely reciprocal for the T5s - Canadians can get 2 year visa to come to the UK. However I would say that many don't need to the visa as they perhaps have dual citizenship with UK or another European country which means they can legally work in the UK without a visa.

Be interesting to see the stats on Ireland...

not the French or Scottish, Ireland played a small part surely only the east coast, however the late opening screws me if I don't get in first round it will mean a 3 week break from work if not longer so saving money now, shite Christmas and hoping for a great easter, my visa ends on feb 14th! and I am gutted

work with loads of irish and they still haven't filled there quota for last year its an absolute joke and all there tickets are recognised here .some bloody commonwealth we live in!

Yes provided your application is received before you turn 31, which if they open in January as expected you should be fine

Interesting...

What happened when they changed the Irish one from 1 to 2 years?

Irish who had no more than 1 participation on the old structure were eligible to receive the 2 year

Default Preperation for IEC Opening Rounds

Hi there. I am just wondering what I can do in preparation for an IEC visa in 2015.

I was going to get my ACPO police checks done now. Is there anything else I can do in the mean time?
I made a Kompass account but cannot fill in anything more right now until 2015.

I do not think there is any point in making a Kompass account now as I believe that they will close off the existing accounts and require you to open a new one for 2015.
