How long to land?
I've searched the cic site but cant seem to find an answer to this one, does anyone know please?
Once you have been granted your PR visa (via spouse sponsorship), how soon afterwards do you have to land in Canada?
Is there a set amount of time or is it different on individual cases?
I read it to be that you have until your passport expires, but in my case that would be 8-9 years as i have just got a new one. And that cant be correct surely?!
Thank you

Re: How long to land?
One year from the date of your medical usually, or the expiry date of your passport, whichever is sooner. So in your case it'll be a year from your medical.

Re: How long to land?
The minimum practical time (assuming 30,000 foot altitude and a 3000 feet-per-minute [fpm] descent rate) would be 10 minutes, though this is not the case for a few reasons. First - 3000 fpm is at the agressive end of the spectrum, and actual rates are probably between 1000-2000 fpm (taking us up to 15-30 minutes).
In your case one year from the medical.

As the others have said. It will state this clearly on your COPR as 'expiry date'. You must land and declare PR (although not necessarily land as a settler) by this date or your COPR expires and you would have to start all over again.
