Hi- Just wondering does work experience of working in America count towards points for foreign work experience in a canadian EE- also- if I were to get Canadian work exp- literally work exp not paid for a few weeks- woudl this up my points?

1. Yes, work in the US as long as it was skilled and paid in the US counts.
2. Non paid work in Canada doesn't count as well as paid work for less than 1 year.

Ok just asking as in my industry unpaid work experience is common but short term and after research I see wouldn't make any difference.

The other thing I am confused about it whether my second job could up my points. I am full time mon-fri as a TV producer which is my primary NOC, but I am also a qualified practioner in solution focused hypnotherapy treating anxiety , depression etc and run my own private practice

My understanding is that you gain points for full time equivalent work but that 1 year full time is one year full time. I.e. working 40 hours a week in 2 jobs (total 80 hours a week) for 1 year does not equal 2 years of work experience.

However, if you have work experience prior to your current role but it is in a second NOC category you can claim the points.

I have 10 years experience as a Tv producer and 2 years experience part time as a private therapist.. I cannot see where it is possible to add a second NOC category to claim points

It's not. You can only claim points for years skilled work experience, no matter how many jobs you did during that time.

plus you max out on points for foreign work experience at three years anyway.
