Default Express Entry Delay waiting since 14 months

Hello All,

I received an ITA in Oct 2016 under the Express Entry system and I submitted my application in Dec 2016. I was asked to pay RPRF fees in May 2017 which I did in May 2017.

However, since then , I have not had any movement on my application. The application status still says that the "application is under review". I have emailed CIC multiple times but it has been impossible to get any helpful response out of them. It has been really frustrating and has left me very annoyed. In total I am it has been 14 months, and I am still awaiting a response. My medical has also expire.

Does anyone has any advise on what I could do next to at least get a response back?

Sending emails to them does not do anything.

Regards,
Kahn

Welcome to BE. Sorry to hear that your application is taking a while, it sounds like your background checks are taking longer than expected. Where are you from and which country are you living in?

The emails that you've sent, have they been case specific emails?

I am originally from Pakistan but have been living in the UK for several years.

The emails have been case specific, in which I have been providing my case ID and DOB etc.

Have you been emailing directly or using the IRCC case specific query webform?

They're usually pretty good at responding to email sent via that, even if it's just a vague 'your application is being processed' kind of response. You've had no reply at all from them? All I can suggest is that you keep trying, ask them if there is anything else they need to finalise your application.

As above, I suspect it's just background checks (sadly, Pakistan is known to be a high fraud country, so checks often take quite a bit longer) and nothing to worry about, but as you're so much over the processing time I'd keep emailing them personally.

Best of luck.

Yes that is all they say "Your application is being processed" , it is like if they do not even read the query.

Thanks, had I known before hand that this would have taken so long, I would have planned accordingly. I had contingency in my plans as I was expecting the result in 12 months, but 14 months is just too long.

Is ordering GCMS notes going to help my situation?

Ah, I thought they hadn't responded at all. At least you know you've not missed a request for extra paperwork.

Definitely worth ordering your GCMS notes (or whatever they're called now) then I'd say.

Good luck.
