Hi, i have been trying to find somewhere that will answer my seemingly simple question, but to no avail.

I work for a uk company and they are allowing me to work remotely whilst on holiday to canada. So, am i able to visit canada for 2 weeks and work remotely for my uk company on a standard visitor visa?

First off how would anyone prove you had done any work in Canada, you're not being paid in Canada or by a Canadian company so I can't see how it'd matter. If you were doing work for a Canadian company then it'd be completely different story. I'm no expert so take my opinion with a pinch of salt

Yes, that's fine. You are paid by a UK company into a UK bank account and your work does not involve any Canadian customers so there's no issue of you taking work away from Canadians.

What you describe is okay. You are employed by a British company and during your holiday you are having to attend to work matters remotely. You are not entering the Canadian labour market and you are not taking an opportunity away from a Canadian or PR. Loads of people the world over go on hols and have to do stuff connected with work (as an employee of a company in their home country) on the phone or internet:

long distance (by telephone or internet) work done by a temporary resident whose employer is outside Canada and who is remunerated from outside Canada;

Thank you all for your responses! This is what i thought also. My boss said I wouldn't be able to due to canadian immigration laws, so i will let him know that it wont be a problem! Thanks again!

I would show your boss the link and then discuss whether what you will be doing meets those definitions/criteria.
