ICT
Hi all, it looks like myself, husband and 2 children (12 and 8) oh and 7 year old black Lab will be coming over later on this year. My husband will be coming over on an ICT I've looked at the wiki article and he will most likely be coming on the senior manager part. Just wanted to know if anyone else came over as an ICT. Do you need to have any sort of medical for the TWP and also if you extend your stay for the full 7 years what happens then? Am I right in thinking we can get PR and then stay indefinitely. Sorry for all the questions and TIA.

Re: ICT
No medical required unless living in a designated country for over 6 months as found in this link
https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration...uirements.html
The maximum is 7 years on ICT however if wanting PR status need to apply for it within those 7 years as its not given automatically and its not a 7 year work permit issued initially (normally 3 yrs max on entry) so extensions must be applied for.

Re: ICT
Hi yes our aim is to remain in Canada so will ideally apply for PR as soon as possible. We are British citizens and my husband's company are dealing with our immigration paperwork etc so I am thinking they will sponsor us for PR (something else to add on the list to ask) Thanks.

Just no point in moving your whole family and spending tens of thousands if you definitely want to stay but can't! So although things change in immigration all the time, I'd definitely check and make sure you have a route to PR before heading over, and then apply as soon as you are able (which would normally be immediately). You can do things like take IELTS exams and apply for your ECA's before you go, which will save time once there, if you get all the paperwork prepared before you leave the UK so that you can apply pretty quickly.
HTH, good luck.

Re: ICT
I came over on ICT (albeit Specialized knowledge category) about 2 years ago now. You seem to be going the right way with the company handling the paperwork.
My TWP was valid for 3 years when I arrived. Transitioned to PR before this expired so no need to extend.
As Christmas said do check what you are scoring on CRS. After a year you will most likely qualify for CEC so don't need to worry about the 67 FSW points but will need sufficient CRS points to be selected from pool.

Figure about 450ish as a rough guide, 430 might do it but you could be waiting in the pool for a while. The last draw went down to 446, previous one was 452. You can see all the previous draws here - https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration...-previous.html

[QUOTE=christmasoompa;12426230]Perfect. So once he's got the year's Canadian work experience (and can then count points for arranged employment too - you can't do that until he's worked for the employer for a year or more, as it's a LMIA exempt TWP) you can apply, and hopefully should have PR before the end of your second year if the points levels don't increase.
Good luck
Thanks for all the information it's put our mind at rest as living in Canada permanently is the long term goal. Guess this is where the fun begins.😨

Re: ICT
We where hoping to be over the second week in June so my husband has a couple of weeks before he officially starts his job on the 2nd of July. But it all seams to be taking along time.
Thanks ( a very impatient Northerner).

Re: ICT
Hi thanks for the previous post. We are currently waiting on my husband's company to apply for his TWP they are using a legal firm to do this. If we where to apply at POE do you have any idea what paperwork the IO would want. We have his job offer but think we read somewhere that they need some sort of code because its LMIA exempt. We may be totally wrong (I've read so many different things on the CIC site it's all merged into one) and can we come over and apply at POE if they have started the ball rolling going through the CIC.

Note I came on ICT SK category so may not apply.
1) Letter from legal firm presenting the case including category of work permit being applied for.
2) Letter of support from the company detailing why they needed to hire me i.e. why the skills were not available in Canada
3) Marriage cert for me and wife
4) Proof of payment of compliance fee (probably the LMIA exception code you refer to)
4) Job offer including benefits, salary etc.
5) Copy of up-to-date resume
6) Degree certs
7) Key internal training certificates (demonstrating advanced proprietary knowledge)
8) Copies of my published technical papers (demonstrating specialist knowledge)
9) Copies of passports
