CHANGING JOBS ONCE PNP
Hi
I have a friend who's got PNP and has sent their application to immigration. They have had letter to say it is in progress as of 7 October via CIC. PNP was issued April
The dilema is the employer (he is a truck driver) is giving him less trips therefore less money, and he and his family are struggling to live. He has now been sat since returning home Wednesday eve.
Can he change jobs or can PNP pull the nomination. We have heard both that yes they can and most likely will and also no they wont if decent circumstances.
Can PNP still withdraw once it is with CIC or can he find another job and get them to pay the compliance fee for LMIA exempt. Any help appreciated as yes a new job is needed to make ends meet but no way is PR wanted to be risked now it is so close.
TIA

It depends on whether his current work permit is tied to his current employer. Not sure if PNP can pull the nomination but he can't work for a different employer if his current work permit is tied to current employer.

Re: CHANGING JOBS ONCE PNP
If employer specific then he can't change jobs unless PNP will authorize such a change. Contact the PNP and tell them of the situation. The only other way is finding a new employer within the same province to get an LMIA which will prove more difficult with the new rules introduced. Speak to PNP to see what they suggest as they agreed to a nomination. Could also be a crappy employer which has happened to a few others.
