My IEC work permit is expiring in a month. I am about to apply to change my status to a visitor so I can stick around for another month. Just wanted to confirm that if the application isn't processed in time (45 days processing time at the moment according to the website) I'd be OK to stay till the application is processed. I don't foresee any reason for it to not be accepted.

Also once accepted can I visit the U.S and re-enter Canada? I assume I wouldn't be able to leave and re-enter Canada while the application is in processing? Could I even go to the States before my work permit expires, and upon returning get my status changed to visitor?
