So I've paid to have my passport renewed but I wanted to check before I did if I need to do anything with my old work permit. Will it remain valid even after I replace my passport? I in need to let IRCC know?

Yes it will remain valid and no need to inform IRCC or CBSA. If its stapled inside the old passport just transfer it to the new one or remove it completely and just carry a copy if travelling outside of Canada.
