Re: Alberta Health options whilst awaiting an LMO
My boss spoke to the HRDSC office in BC today - They informed her they are only just looking at Oct 07 applications there is a big back log. However advised her more staff would be drafted in soon.

I do believe I have implied status, my working holiday visa was unextendable, so the lawyer found a loophole that allowed me to apply for a change of conditions in the visa, basically tying me to the employer (my previous visa was an open work permit). My SIN number remains valid also
Did you need special permission (or did you do anything apart from submit the application) to continue using your SIN? I'm just asking because I'm in the same situation and after some research found this:
""Service Canada respects the implied status granted by Citizenship and Immigration of up to eight weeks for those employees who experience an administrative delay after requesting a renewal of their work authorization document. This implied status is granted only if the renewal application was made prior to the original immigration document expiring." http://www.servicecanada.gc.ca/en/si...s/expiry.shtml

Wow that's concerning, i'll look into this tomorrow but I wasn't aware of any timelines on this, it's kinda concerning as it's completely out of our control, seeing as I applied 4 months prior to the first visa expiring.......oh well, musn't grumble, i'll get back to you!! Alun
