Default New Work Permit for my Wife

Hi Folks,

We are currently waiting on our PR to come through having applied in August.
I also have a BOWP application in process which was applied for at the end of September. Our work permits are due to expire in Mid Jan 2018 I am presuming my Wife would now need to be re-applying for an extension to her work permit if she wishes to continue working?

Are we to fork out the dollars once again??

I think I have most likely answered my own question here however I wanted to give the BE faithful the opportunity to break the bad news

Regards

Is your wife's work permit a Spousal Open Work Permit (i.e. linked to yours, or a stand alone one (i.e. she has a LMIA too)? If the former then she can't extend it and will have to wait until you have your BOWP to get another SOWP.

Thanks Christmas,

Yes she is on a SOWP so will have to wait then until mine comes through.
