Working remotely in Hungary - pay tax in the UK or Hungary?
Hi all
My company is considering allowing me to become a remote worker.
I am planning to spend about 9 months of the year or more in Hungary, and where I will work remotely via the internet for a British company, receiving a UK salary into a UK bank account.
I will be living with my Hungarian girlfriend who owns her own flat, so there will be no property issues.
Am I liable for tax in the UK, Hungary or both? Extensive web searching doesn't seem to help - the Hungarian tax website does not seem to be clear on what constitutes residency and tax liability.
Any advice welcome!

Hi and welcome to the BE forums.
Someone more knowledgeable on tax matters will hopefully come along shortly
To the best of my knowledge, if you reside outside of the UK for 6 months and 1 day, you do not have to pay tax in the UK. If you reside in Hungary for 9 months of the year, you will pay tax, in Hungary, on your worldwide income.
