State Dental Treatment
 

I have had a few fillings done privately in Hungary and had an emergency extraction done by the state funded dentist appointed to my village. Am I right in thinking that most dental treatment is only available privately and the state funded treatments are very restricted? My teeth are a mess and I have barely enough teeth left to chew food properly so is going private my only option?

I fear you're right - my wife says the state will pull sick teeth, but getting new ones is your problem ...
I've never in life seen so many people with missing teeth like in Hungary.

A bit OT:
Though compared to Western Europe private dentists are still cheap - my sister who lives in England already decided to come back to her dentist next year. Of course she'll combine this with a visit to our place ...

The state dental treatment here is targeted at health not aesthetics. So fillings are free as are extractions but when it comes to more aesthetic repairs like crowns, implants and false teeth, these are regarded as optional and so not funded (although false teeth might be part funded). And the reason you see so many people with missing teeth (on show) is that they choose not to spend their (limited) disposable income in that department.

But at least here you can find a NHS dentist unlike the UK where such are as scarce as hens teeth so I am told!!

Personally I chose to have Dental Implants to Lower Teeth 8 years ago in Budapest cost then around £800.00 just for bottom set He changed Top set to match same time, this because over years my Bottom Gum shrunk unable to wear Denture now this July Full MOT Bottom Implants and Top Set resized OK I had to leave all Sets There for Him to do work but 48 hr later all fixed and Polished up Like new Cost 80,000 hf To myself I can Highly Recommend this Dentist So Stop the Pain go for Implants digger47
