Hi we are relocating to Fonyod in the coming weeks, is there much of a British community in that area? just wanna say hi in case there are people in and around the south Balaton area :)

Apart from Budapest you probably have more Brits around that corner of the lake than anywhere else in Hungary.

Good luck. I envy you as I'm still a couple of years away from retiring and moving over the Hungary. My wife is Hungarian and with her family living in a village near Miskolc that's going to be where we will live.

I hope you enjoy living in Hungary as much as I have enjoyed going to Hungary since 2002 almost every year and sometimes twice a year.

I've stayed in Keszethely with my wife's family and I'm certain as we drove south of Balaton we must have gone through Fonyod. Can't remember it though .....
