Default New Mattress

Can anyone recommend a place to buy a very soft mattress? I have looked at various places, and all seem to stock only 'firm' or 'very hard'.

I am not far from Nagykanizsa, but would be prepared to travel to get the right one.

Thank you.

Hi Shotgun,

Have you tried Jysk? The one nearest to us near Tata has a variety of memory foam matresses as well as traditional ones ranging from medium to concrete.

I was thinking the same - Jysk is everywhere, also in Keszthely and they really have a large selection of stuf.

Thanks. I will try Jysk in Nagykanizsa. If they have anything suitable it will be the only place that appears to have anything softer than medium hard.

In UK I can get a mattress that I can sink into and almost disappear, but it seems that Hungarians only like sleeping on 'beton'.

Thanks again for your suggestions.

If you have one in your area, you could also try Mobilex who do a fairly good range of mattresses.

Some of the mattress toppers are quite soft so that might be one way round it but it seems difficult to get flat sheets and a fitted one might not go round a mattress + topper. Fedőmatrac - Topper - Emlékezőhab topper 180x200 cm - Beliani - XI. kerület, Budapest

I have another suggestion:

There is guy in Budapest called Tibor Nagy who sells water beds and is willing to travel to you to install them maybe ...
They're not cheap, but very comfortable. My wife tried our waterbed in Germay and immediately said she wanted one in Hungary too - her Xmas present ...

Another alternative is to buy a duck feather mattress topper to go on top of a medium/soft mattress. You can order them online from somewhere like theduvetstore.co.uk. Delivery to Hungary is £15.
