Moving company & costs

Moving company & costs
Good morning all, I would like to pick your collective brains this morning on options for moving the entire contents of a house in the UK to Hungary. Any suggestions or experiences of companies would be most welcome.
We are viewing in June so trying to get all bases covered in advance.

Currently south of Balaton, but have certain criteria, but the essential one we cant compromise on it has to be 3 bedrooms. maybe am being to picky for our proposed budget but will see. Had to pass some lovely ones last year which were perfect.

How much have you got?
Now is a good time to get rid of all the clutter that you thought you needed but have never used!
I and quite a few others here took the DIY route and hired vans, trailers, small trucks etc.
Hungary is not a popular destination for removal companies, so can be expensive and/or may involve long wait.

In high insight we would have sold much of our furniture etc, information was nearly non existent some years ago . We ended up eventually when extensive renovations were comleted buying all new furniture and white goods anyway.

Something to consider is size and weight - As a very rough guide to work out prices for a small food box load, I normally calculate 1 GBP to 1Kg plus a little for the service charge. I.e. a 25Kg box for 30 GBP. Obviously this depends not just on the weight but also the size. The food box might be 30 GBP but a much lighter double bed frame might be more expensive because of its bulk space.

Have you thought about just selling/getting rid of furniture and just buying new in Hungary? Then just hire a van from one of the bigger companies for your personal possessions and clothes and drop the van off with the same company when in Hungary. Thats what I plan to do myself when I make the move.

Abel's - absolutely brilliant, did the packing & everything. Ours was only a part load so came groupage but they treated us like major customers.

Thank you all for the good information & suggestions. Leaving stuff & buying new for some stuff is a good option & already started selling off stuff. A WW2 vehicle may have to go as well sadly due to the apparent complications of re registering .
