Yes, I roasted a piece of beef but it came out as tough as old boots so I ended having ham instead. The beef did not go to waste (or even in the dog) though. My AGA type woodburning stove is ideal for stews so it was beef stew on Boxing Day!

Well just to rub it in..... We had turkey with all the trimmings and a honey roast gammon joint.
Pleased to hear you enjoy it nonetheless, did you spend it in the village or on the hill?

I am very jealous – I spent 24th with Hungarian relatives at a Panzio they run at Heviz. Completely Hungarian, Leves & Fish . On 25th had I had Kaposzta and indigestion. (only joking all very nice)

I am making plans for next year!

I had a quiet Christmas with just me and the two dogs. For a change from duck which is what I usually have I had roast lamb which was very tasty but rather odd looking, more like the hind leg of dog! On New Years Eve roast beef and yorkshire pudding. It's now back to pork, pork, and more pork and sausages in between because on Jan 2 I was given enough to last me for months and I haven't got anymore room in either of the freezers until I've eaten it!
