A Happy New Year 2018!
I wish everybody here a Happy New Year 2018!
And don't forget to think of the poor animals which have to go through the constant noise of the fireworks - I don't get it why people started yesterday already and are doing it all evening ...
We're lucky in a way that we had to put to sleep our dog (she was 16 years old!) which was very afraid of the noise but now even our little tomcat is showing signs of fear ...
And on Tuesday we'll see again several dogs which ran away and didn't find the way back - they're usually on the Aldi car park ...

Boldog új évet kívánok!
Same in UK for fireworks. They started going off at 5pm. Was very annoyed because our 12 y.o. GSD is having a bout of diarhoea so needed to go outside regularly but a firework would go off then she'd sprint back inside.
We chatted to friends in Hungary at 11pm UK time to wish them a happy new year. Unfortunately when it was our turn we had both fallen asleep due to being so tired from letting out our GSD outside the night before.

@FenTiger:
Am I right in assuming GSD stands for German Shepherd Dog?
In November we lost our dog - a GSD/Malinois cross breed, a wonderful dog ...
At 16 (!) years of age the vet recommended to put her to sleep, she couldn't really walk anymore. She was also very afraid of fireworks and thunder - but nothing/no one else!

Yes, that's correct. She's all black and long haired. Her mother was white and father black & tan. She is a very protective, territorial and sometimes very vocal, just how I like my dogs. She's very good with kids of all ages because friends insisted we brought along our black fluffy puppy when we visited them. Hope the attachment works.

I am happy this New Year because for the first time in 5 years some idiot didn't decide to save his fireworks until 4 in the morning!
Or I have become so immune to dogs barking all night that I sleep through anything now. :-)
So Happy New Year to all of you too!

Someone was out shooting yesterday....... Then a few fireworks. Then silence. Sometimes being out in the countryside is good!
In some ways I'm glad it's over and normality can resume. Two weeks off work though as I the Doctor ordered as my elbow is knackered!
