Do any of you know whether there's restrictions using dash cams in Hungary.

Re: Dash Cams
We decided to have one in our car as the standard of driving is pretty poor in my opinion. Overtaking on bends and blind crests, tailgating not just on motorways but on country roads, and many more.
Amazingly this is a view shared by many of our Hungarian friends, some of who are also guilty of afore-mentioned manoeuvres.
There are very few things that 'wind me up' in Hungary but driving skills are one of them.
I have seen quite a few vehicles with dashcams fitted, but I'm unsure of issues regarding legality.

I can't decide whether to get one or not ..... and also there's so many different models on the market ..... as well as ... do I go for a cheapo or expensive one .....
Looking on Amazon even the most expensive ones don't get a better review than the cheaper models!

Pages and loads of comments and advise on the Canadian forum.

and on The Lab forum.

I'm thinking of getting one myself in a few months time for use here in France.
Cheers.

I have taken the plunge and invested in a dash cam .... should arrive today or tomorrow. I realised last night that I really should get one .... where I live I see too often car drivers being pretty careless ..... it will be a good opportunity to learn how to get the most from it before I hire a car from Budapest airport.

My dashcam is a mini version which I'm keen to keep because it's less obstrusive!

Re: Dash Cams
I have been using one for 5 months and during that time have been stopped twice by the police during regular spot checks. They did see it and nothing was mentioned, just checking over my documents and thats all, so i have to assume there is nothing against it .... for now

Dash cams are apparently banned in Austria and I think Switzerland.
