buying barbeque gas bottle
Hi Everyone,
I wonder if anyone can help me? We recently bought a gas barbeque (propane) from OBI in Eger. The problem is that all the local gas suppliers only do exchanges, and we need a new bottle to start off with (OBI don't do them).
Does anyone know where we might by a new bottle of propane?
Thanks in advance.

First off, just a nit to pick, I presume its PB as used here (propane/butane) and known and loved every where and not propane as per UK red bottles.
I would suggest looking in the various second-hand web sites for PB bottles for sale. Search through until you find one in your area - it will be a bit cheaper than getting a 'new' one through a supplier. (search google - elado pb palack)
As a PB user for many years - most people have 2 'cos they always run out at the most inconvenient time.

Useful tip Clive.
When you get a full bottle, weigh it and again after a set time. this way you will know how much gas your particular BBQ uses for a set period, give or take.
You can then decide if there is enough gas for one more BBQ or if you need to get a new bottle.
(Bottle should be marked with Tare weight)

I got mine at the Sunday car boot type markets but you need to find the going price and offer that or you will pay double when they realise you are a foreigner. Nothing like that is marked with the price so it is usual to haggle. I find MOL garages do the cheapest exchanges.

Hi Everyone,
yes, it does use butane/propane. Is that the silver cannisters I see everywhere in Hungary?
If so, a car boot seems a good place to look. There is a second hand shop (a bit of a 'four candles' type of place) near us as well, I'll take a look there once I know I'm after the silver bottles or not.
