BalatonBrits meeting

Hi guys,

Just wondering if anyone can tell me if the Balaton Brits meeting that happens on the second Tuesday of every month still takes place?
We're in the area and hoping to gate crash tomorrow if it's still on.. just need a time and place lol

If anyone can help, I'd be very grateful.
Thanks
Mandy X

From the organiser

"Dear All,

Just confirmed that Gulya Csarda is prepared for our monthly invasion on Tuesday. They will have arranged the reservation for 6pm around the other side of the footpath so that we have more shade and hopefully a bit of breeze.

After our massive turn-out last month which they coped with extremely well, I thought it might be a nice gesture to get them a token of appreciation, perhaps a fairly large pot plant? "

No idea where Gulya Csarda is but the meeting is for 11th July.

Hey, we just passed there a few hours ago (near the Balatonszentgyörgy train station where our young ones arrived from Bp) and there were so many cars ...

Hope you're having some fun - right now around the West Balaton we're having a thunderstorm.

Take care!

Yes, there were over 70 people at this months meal, perhaps a bit too big a group for new members to get properly welcomed. I did speak to one chap who was leaving early because he felt he had been ignored by everyone. I think he recognised me from my photo on the Facebook group.

Something similar happened to me once at a meeting of Germans near the Balaton many years ago - that's why I didn't return to their meetings again.

A group like this forum is much better imho - you can find common themes and points of interest.
I really like it here, thank you all!

Pity I couldn’t get over there as I had something else on. Will try for next time. Out of interest what do folk do for transport after having a few urm - I wanted to say cokes but that could be construed as something else - ales or something?

Most people I saw were on soft drinks. Their home made lemonade is OK. The previous time I went there I asked for orange juice but got something like weak orange squash.
