Im quite surprised that any money can survive over 8 years in India unless its in a bank vault... most bank notes disintegrate within a year from my experience. They are going to try out plastic notes soon as in the UK

I imagine they will survive if carefully wrapped and kept in a metal cupboard or safe. Only the very wealthy will use Swiss banks to stack away the 'black'.
