To be honest i don't think Goa would suit your needs,as there is no expat community as such, internet access at resorts virtualy nil and a private apartment with pool in Jan/feb probably booked up or very expensive. As for English tv stations they mostly show American crime shows.

There is a fair Brit. presence all year, but they're fairly spread out.
Plenty pubs. Glad you have your priorities right.
Glad you have your property in Turkey. Buying here, even legally, is a nightmare.
Accommodation, don't know the situation.
Come, enjoy and go home.
Davie.

Re: Where to go in goa
1. Generally South Goa is quieter than North. That said whilst the resorts of the south may be small, they will each have a few restaurants and bars.
2. Areas like Candolim, Calangute and Baga in north Goa are long strips of beach development with oodles of bars, restaurants etc and stacks of tourists.
3. The north of North Goa is quieter than Calangute but again plenty of bars etc.
4. Anjuna is renowned as party ville (& other stuff!)
5. Morjim is very Russian
6. Arpora is a very pleasant village a couple of miles inland from Baga with plenty of amenities but without the hassle / buzz (depending how you look at it) of the beach strip.
7, Wifi is widespread. You can also get sims with internet access for your phone or for a dongle.
8. The Indian equivalent of Sky is cheap with plenty of English speaking stations but limited UK tv. Wall to wall football but you won't get Coronation Street for example.
9. Flights are ok with charter airlines (Monarch, Thomson and T Cook) & are direct but limited for longer stays. Otherwise look at Jet and Qatar via Mumbai and Doha respectively.
Hope that's a start. Suggest you trawl through the threads on this site for more info.
