Default South Goa - September.

We arrived in South Goa on 1/9/16 & everything has been great! Minimal rain for the 1st 2 days & absolutely next to nothing for the last week - in fact, occasional cloud but by & large warm, breezy, sunny & generally bloody lovely. Us Northern Europeans have used the a/c though to get a great night's sleep.

The roads are quiet.

The coastal villages are quiet with some locals away for the feast of Vailankanni in Madras & the others just going about their normal daily business.

The better restaurants are ticking over.

The weather has been far far better than expected.

In general we would not hesitate to arrive at this time of year again.

Rgds.

P.S. - does this forum still have a pulse or has it been given the last rights. . . . . . .

The forum still exists, I still read it ( while foolishly became 'hooked' on arguing in TIO but now refrain from the chit chat here which always seems to be negative!)

We are in Pune at the moment staying with rels. There they had severe drought, but then good rains mostly stopped now.
Going to usual home place next week then back to Pune and then short trip to Ahmedabad, never been to Gujarat before so OH keen to go. Then probablyback home South and will be visiting Goa around about Diwali time.
As you say South Goa is always great particularly Palolem.

Technology is fantastic these days but the various apps we use for weather forecasts are utter rubbish: we're supposed to have had thunder & lightening for the last 10 days - occasional thunder a week ago but certainly no lightening since we arrived.

North East India seems to be getting a very bad time with heavy rain.

Is usual place Karwar? If so I can't see the weather being that different to South Goa weather. It has been lovely: possible to sit outside in the sun at 2pm as there's been a good breeze.

South Goa will be very interesting around 15 & 16th of October as the BRICS summit is being held here with at least 900 delegates plus entourages pitching up. There's frantic road widening going on between Benaulim & Cavelossim! Speed breakers are being scraped away with JCB back hoes & allegedly all road side advertising hoardings are going to be removed! Cavelossim was like a ghost town today & Colva was not much busier on Thursday night.

From The Herald yesterday
VASCO: The Russian Army under Vladamir Putin is used to bombed streets and trenches in the war zone in Syria. But he isn’t quite expecting to see a mini replica of that scene when he lands at the Dabolim airport and leaves for Mobor, where the BRICS summit will be held in October. But he just might.😄While the Goa government is busy paving roads to ensure that road infrastructure is world class😲 😨the Airport road stretch just outside the airport to the Chicalim junction, which was once the best road in the state, is a wreck. One of the main causes for its present state is the laying of water pipelines under JICA project and the other being the reckless cutting of the road to lay 4 G cables of a major

* Hope Putin & co land at night so they don't see the the garbage - Swachh Bharat ?🙈💩👳
