Flights to Goa from the UK

Can anyone tell me if there are direct flights from any UK airport to GOA. Some years ago Monarch did offer direct flights but appear to have stopped.
Thanks

I think Thompsons are the only one who fly direct. All the rest either stop in Mumbai or Delhi and if its a middle eastern airline then its either Doha or Abu Dhabi ( Emirates Qatar )

Have been booking pre-Christmas domestic flights (Mumbai) for family coming for school holidays. Already cheaper seats fully booked on Jet. Spicejet half the price (at the moment).

Anyone know why the Qatar Manchester to Goa flights have gone so expensive this year ? Prices are up some 30% and this was before the alienation by Saudi etc. I have registered a complaint but they just fob it off, even when they have a "promotion" the prices are the same for the route

RoS,

Forget Qatar: robbery is the only definition of their prices at present. Try Finnair: 5 hour wait in Helsinki but arrive at 8AM in daylight & depart at 10AM in daylight. If arrival & departure times don't bother you, Thomas Cook look to be the way to go: decent prices & AFAIK flying to & from Goa later in Spring 2018.

Cheers H,

I looked at Finn air ( does caffeine shampoo help ;-) ) and they finnish (ha) 21 March and she who must be obeyed wants to stay another week or so. Thos Cook looks ok but luggage is crap @20kgs and with Mrs Santan wanting to pack the kitchen sink we would be up to Qatar prices by paying extra.
Oman or Emirates look fav but long duration shiteflights

Why not go from Heathrow? National Express coaches quite comfortable!
Jet Airways now have their own terminal at Mumbai international, so no transfer and you can choose your timings (and decent website unlike some!)

Thanks Bipat, Heathrow is a bit of a pain for us as we live on The Wirral but I may look at the option.

Off topic - good prog on BBC tonight with Anita Rani about partition and the effect on families

An additional 20kg on TC is £85! More robbery & their website doesn't make clear whether that's one way or return!!!!!

I guess you're already checking fares on www.southalltravel.co.uk, www.flysharp.co.uk (one & the same but offer different prices) & www.netflights.com on a regular basis?

We really really didn't fancy Heathrow either - bad enough on the way out but a nightmare on the way home!

Rgds.

Thanks Bert no Air India from Manchester but looks like Oman is the best deal for us with a 7.5hr stop over both ways in Muscat, they do have an "exec"lounge however @app £22 pp which looks ok (ish) Tickets to India looks best price as Southall want to include a change of flight fee

PHEW

Booked our flights last week with Oman Air at £400 each ( ok there is a 7.5 layoverin Muscat ) but checked this morning and they are NOW £762 !

We will use their exec lounge which is app £20 each, has anyone used it and is it complimentary alcohol or pay bar ?

Thanks again for your replies
