Where can I buy acai and other foods?
 

So I'll be moving to prenzlauer berg in Berlin in a couple weeks (I'll be arriving there on the 15th) I will initially be going over there as an au pair and then I'll be going on to complete my studies there also. I'm a vegan and have been since I was an infant and so obviously there are only certain things I can eat. I buy a lot of acai (both in purée and powder form) as well as things like cashew and almond butter, and was wondering if anyone knows where I am buy these things? Also are these types of foods expensive in prenzlauer berg? I heard prenzlauer berg is a pretty hippy and health conscious area and so maybe it would be easy for me to find these things? Any help/advice is greatly appriciated! Thank you!

There's a Veganz vegan supermarket at Schivelbeiner Strasse 34:

You can find those in drug stores such as Rossmann, in the Apotheke, Bioladen or online. Most supermarkets have a (small) selection of vegan foods as well.

Attila Hildmann has made vegan cooking famous in Germany. But there are many more good vegan cooks. In Berlin and most other big cities in Germany you should be fine. But the rest might be difficult...

Do you want something specific? If you google you will find shops that offer vegan food. There is also a vegan group in Heidelberg:

By the way I have found this website www.boxfromuk.co.uk, they have a nice selection of vegan products from uk and prices are cheaper than the british corner shop :thumbsup:
