Rostock
Does anyone live in or near Rostock? If so, what's the place like? THanks for any open opinion. Nat

Re: Rostock
From the lack of replies, it doesn't look as though there are many BE members in the Rostock area. If no one responds, try the Towtown site, in the Meck.Vorpommern section.

Re: Rostock
I have visited. A fairly grim mid-sized town. Suffered de-population after unification. Other towns in Meck-Pom are nicer. Schwerin, for example.

For what it's worth, my two daughters both lived in Berlin for several years (one still does), and they both say that Rostock has nothing to write home about.

Otherwise, I don't know. I think property is cheap there, and jobs are scarce there.

Re: Rostock
Before 1945 it was one of the centres of aircraft production. That was not continued in the GDR. It was the chief seaport of the area.

Sorry, there was a typo, and the full title of the site is in any case Toytown Germany. Under Forums, you'll find North Germany and Meck.Vorpommern.

Thanks...that seems to be the main tenor here!

Yes, that's what we have been told as well, that Hansa fans seem to be fairly "right wing"...
