Re: Can UK citizen remain living in Germany if we leave EU
Nothing is likely to change until October 2018 at the earliest on the current timetable. I very much doubt EU citizens will require a visa to come to the UK. Worst case scenario they'll be able to visit visa-free but will be unable to work or study without a pre-approved visa. If the UK remains within the EEA or strikes a Swiss-style deal then the status quo will continue.

Looks like we'll be going for the Norway option. No change then!

Germany is already discussing which city will be the heir to London's bank. Also Germany is luring Vodafon. There are some companies that might come over to the EU creating much needed jobs. As we can see life goes on and doesn't stop because the UK left the EU. I assume that we (Europeans) will land on our feet - a little bit poorer probably but fine.
I just like to say that if EU citizen will need any kind of visa to enter the UK, British citizen will need a visa to enter the EU. I would advise you not to go down this road. It is the UK that is good on selling services. The service industry is dependend on its service provider to have free access to the EU. We can of course close this access and your people will have to apply for a visa if they want to visit customers as much as we can close our market to any country that has no agreement with us. This will in turn give the chance to European service providers to get rid of the UK comeptition and take back what is ours - jobs and business in Europe for Europeans only

" As the German equivalent of the CBI – the BDI – has very sensibly reminded us, there will continue to be free trade, and access to the single market."
Just to set records straight - this is what the BDI said and it is very sensible in my view:
"We don't like to build new barriers... but any bid to secure full access to the single market would necessarily come with conditions. Everyone who negotiates on the British side will understand that," Mr Wissmann said.
"If you want full access to the market, that comes necessarily with the free movement of people. That's the bitter pill the Brexiteers have to accept," he added.

Visited our Stadthaus yesterday and was told that the day the UK leaves the EU is when our UK passports are no good. Suggested that there was no rush but we should start getting the paperwork done for a German passport ie translation of Birth Certificate marriage certificate etc. Current cost for German passport is over 250euros.

That's really a bunch of nonsense. No agreements have been made yet between UK and EU/German governments so your status will remain the same until some announcements have been made to that effect. No reason to panic.
There are many Germans walking around pretending to be experts on the brexit. You should know that the local "Gemeinde" is probably the worst place to ask.. they will give you an awkward answer to anything that they don't really have a clue about.
Just be patient..it may never happen at all!..

The days of the "Aufenthaltserlaubnis" might come back. I remember those nasty cops at the Polizeipraesidium at Berlin-Templehof in 1968 ! Long-haired foreign students were not welcome there in those days of Rudi Dutschke !

I think this to be HIGHLY unlikely. British citizens will lose their right to work, live and retire in the EU. They will be standing in the line with all other nationals of third countries, they will have to apply for visa, they will pay for entry into the Union, no special treatment, no express line. You will leave the Union. WAKE UP!

Not sure why you are all "Doom and Gloom". What about all the families where one partner comes from the country of residents. I am British with an English wife both of us worked in Germany and pay German taxes. We have been advised that providing we have German Passports before England leave the EU we can keep both - problem solved!
