Berlin -Public Transport
I am hoping to have a "Dialysis Holiday" in Berlin next year. in preparation I have been looking at websites. I was first there in 1964 and the city has changed a bit since then !
https://www.berlin.de/en/public-transportation/
That solves the problem of getting around - A 7-day season (Wochenkarte) for 38 Euros !

If the trains come public transport in Berlin is actually quite good! You can even travel to the fringes of the city and visit some lakes. That way one can appreciate why Berlin is so special compared to many other big cities. It is a green city. Anyway, enjoy the trip.

I worked in Berlin (West) in 1968-1969 (Or "Westberlin" as the comrades in the GDR called it.). At that time there were certain restrictions in place on getting in and out of Greater Berlin !

Probably an interesting time to have been in Berlin!! You got a good perspective on the city's development. If you like let me know what you think about the Berlin now and then once you have returned.

Summer 2018 is the plan. I have made several visits since my first one in 1964 when I was in the East as part of a British Youth Delegation.
All I can say is that the words of Johannes R. Becher came true - "Auferstanden aus Ruinen......"
