British Expats - What to ship to New Zealand and what to leave behind

The process of finally getting everything in place to move to New Zealand is long and stressful enough, so when you finally get to the last few stages and the physical move more stress and decision making is pretty unwelcome!

It helps to be organised and deciding what to take with you is half the battle.

The key areas to consider are:

the cost of buying new vs. the cost of shipping
the stress and time factors in shopping for new items
the emotional impact of having familiar items around you (or on the flip side the clean slate of a fresh start)
what items will and won't work in New Zealand
what you're legally allowed to import and what might be restricted/prohibited by the border protection authorities
