Absolutely, but it can be a win-win for both employer and employee. They are not perfect but the majority of those employed on zero hour contracts are happy with them and happier than the salaried employees with their work-life balance. There's a lot political rhetoric surrounding them that isn't borne out by the facts.

There's a grain of truth in that but it will be very long time before bureaucracy in the area of immigration law in the UK or anywhere else catches up with the concept of a gig economy.

Ok indeed the unions are powerful, but all my comments were not expected to be taken literally.
I should have used this.... smiley.

Thank you for all the comments!!

After reading them all and doing various research myself i've realised that there are a lot of factors I didn't even consider.

I would still like to go down the SS route but I also don't want to be away from my spouse for too long, i'm sure this is the same dilemma for many.

For now i'll keep doing some research

Thanks

You're right there! you could get info from those who have done it/are in the process of doing it, if you return to the MBTTUK forum. Make a forum search (button top right) and join ongoing threads or maybe start a new thread with Surinder Singh in the title.
If we can help further on the France front, don't hesitate to ask!
