The advantages and disadvantages mentioned here about the onboard dog's kennels are true and should be considered whilst going for an overnight trip. But if you are travelling with France ferries which is only a 2 hours journey from the UK, your dog should be fine spending 2 hours inside the kennel and thus you can always travel with it.
