Scooters in France
Hi we live in France and one of our daughters who is 18 would like to buy a scooter. This would be a secondhand one. Although out on the road we see some with number plates and some without what is the difference. Can anyone tell me does she have to have lessons, a licence, where she should go etc. Any help and assistance would be most helpful. Thank you so much for your help.

Depends on the size of the scooter. If she doesn't have a car license, she needs to do a 'BSR4? All drivinf schools do them. On the other hand, she may need to do only part of this, as French Colleges do part of it as curriculum. She'll need insurance. They are thinking about number plates; don't think it's happened yet.

Scooter with no plate = 49,9 cm3 engine (max speed, about 45 km/h)
Scooter with plate = above 49.9 cm3 (engine up to 125 cm3), regular driving licence requested.
