Question Moving to France with teenagers!!

We are planning to relocate to the Poitou Charentes area of France in the near future and have a 14 year old daughter and a 12 year old son. We are frantically trying to get to grips with the language prior to moving! We would really appreciate any advice on how to help the children cope with this big step and help them readjust. We are all really excited by the prospect of the move but appreciate that their happiness could prove to be make or break.

Thanks very much

Not an easy age to move...

One hint to give you an idea of what they are are expected to know at school is there are a number of books that give a complete summary of the years curriculum. You can find these in large book shops, Fnac or large supermarkets.
I can try to find the ISBN or amazon refernce if you want.

To understand how the ages relate to school years
UK year 7 = French 6eme
UK year 8 = French 5eme
UK year 9 = French 4eme
etc

http://www.kiechle.com/france/index.htm has a good section on education.
